V.I.P. of the Week Schedule
Discovery day is when parents are invited to come in and help us discover something new or teach us something that your child likes to do and will be the last day of your child's V.I.P. week unless you prefer another day the week that we celebrate your child. *If you are NOT able to attend, please let me know so that I can make arrangements to help your child with their Discovery Day.* In the past Discovery Day activities have been teaching us how to make cotton candy, doing an art project, teaching us outside games, teaching us how to fold and fly paper airplanes, puzzle activities, dance party, bead art, etc. It does not have to be a huge activity-talk to your child about what they like to do and would like to share with their classmates. This has always been a favorite activity of my past students. Please contact me if you have questions or concerns.

Monday- Student returns the "All About Me" poster completed which will be displayed for that week. Classmates plays the 10 questions game with the V.I.P. so that we can find more out about our special person. As a class, we will make words using the letters in the V.I.P's name.

Tuesday- Student brings in their favorite storybook to read or I can read it to the class. As a class, students will fill out the informational "First Grade Friends" sheet for their end of year first grade friends' booklets.

Wednesday- As a class, we will fill out the book review about the V.I.P.'s favorite book that he or she shared with the class on the previous day. The book review sheets will be complied into "Our Favorite Books" end of year booklet for each student.

This should not be a stressful activity but something that you and your child will enjoy working on together. Your child will be the "teacher" and you will assist. If you are not able to attend your child’s “Discovery Day”, you can give me the necessary information and materials to do with your child and I will be happy to conduct it with your child. This experience is to help our class discover or learn something new while celebrating your child.
