In this assignment, a Google Sheet was created and the cells were resized making them slightly larger. The first page was duplicated to create two additional sheets at the bottom. Each sheet was given a color to make it easy for students to find.
Teach students how to use the paint fill tool and also the little rectangle to drag a cell vertically or horizontally to fill cells easily. Older students could also add a math sentence for each number group they have created.
The assignment was set up in Google Classroom so that each student will make their own copy of the Google Sheet. You must choose that option the first time you add the assignment or it will no longer be available if you come back to edit the assignment.
Format Google Sheets to create pixel art with, or to demonstrate math concepts with. Area, perimeter, fractions and more can be represented using pixel art in Google Sheets.
Students type a number between 0-9 in any of the cells to paint it an assigned color.
