Standards Based Grading

Granite district has adopted standards based grading this year. That means your student will no longer be getting letter grades, but instead will receive a number indicating mastery of specific standards. We are working together to change our thinking that numbers do not equal grades and student worth is not based off of scores. Instead, please use the scales to identify areas of strength and growth.

Fourth grade is a wonderful year of transition. It is a year in which students should begin to understand the importance of their grades and take responsibility for their success. Please help your child monitor their own progress and understanding and feel pride in their accomplishments.
