Our goal as a school based physical therapy team is to help our students achieve functional independence in their school environment. We can do this by recommending strategies, modifications, and adaptive aids in order to improve school performance, and to include students in school activities. We can also work on developing activities to improve large muscle control and balance, to promote sensorimotor development (body awareness, postural control), and to promote independence in functional mobility skills.
The information found on this site is intended to give you ideas to help facilitate your child's mobility and motor skill development at home. Please consider your child's safety and ability level. Consult the PT with specific questions or concerns, and do not attempt any activities that you do not feel comfortable with.
