Speaking & Listening
GSD ELA teachers support and facilitate the development and refinement of speaking and listening skills. We use the Utah Core standards to enable students to communicate effectively by both learning to speak & listen in a variety of situations.
Writing
GSD ELA teachers provide explicit writing instruction to support students to become proficient in communicating through a variety of writing genres, styles, and tasks to support them in their chosen career or college paths.
Reading
GSD ELA teachers support and instruct students in building reading stamina and motivation. We also explicitly instruct students in critical comprehension strategies to access complex texts for college and career readiness.
