Concert Choir (Encore): - This auditioned full-year choir for 7th and 8th grade provides advanced opportunities for students to develop their musical potential, music reading skills and performance abilities through singing in a choral ensemble. Students will perform in evening concerts and special events at the school and around the community. Auditions: January 10th and 11th after school. Sign up up in E-1. 

Dance Company: Auditions: January 17th and 18th from 3:00-4:30 in room; must attend BOTH days. Comp prepared with a 1 minute dance showing off your best moves. See Ms. Kesner-Steinberg in E6 for more information.  Dance Company Video

Dual Language Immersion Spanish Culture and History B: In this course, students will compare and contrast individual and collective perspectives about discovery, change, oppression and consequences by studying the historical period of Spanish Discovery and Conquest of the Americas (1492-1779). Students will utilize all modes of communication (interpretive, interpersonal and presentational) to build skills in cultural-linguistic competencies necessary for successful communication with native speakers. Students will utilize media and authentic texts to discuss the diverse cultural products, practices and perspectives of the Spanish-speaking world. 

Dual Language Immersion Spanish Culture and History C: In this course, students will compare and contrast individual and collective perspectives about independence, freedom and change by studying the Independence movements of the Hispanic world (1780-1830). Students will utilize all modes of communication (interpretive, interpersonal and presentational) to build skills in cultural-linguistic competencies necessary for successful communication with native speakers. Students will utilize media and authentic texts to discuss the diverse cultural products, practices and perspectives of the Spanish-speaking world. 

Drama Company: Performance based class with required participation in the fall play and spring musical. This course also offers an equal focus on participating in acting exercises, understanding technical design and analyzing theatre history. Auditions: Wednesday, January 24th &  Thursday, January 25th, 2023. Drama Company auditions will be held in Room E2. (BOTH DAYS REQUIRED)

Spanish 3 Dual Language Immersion: 7th grade students continue their learning in Spanish, reinforcing their knowledge and being able to speak and write in Spanish. We start with real AP practices in class to prepare this exam in 9th grade. 

Stage Crew: This is a year-long technical theatre and design class for 7th and 8th grade students. Stage Crew runs tech and covers backstage needs for all events and performances in the auditorium in addition to designing and building for plays/musicals. Students must fill out an application, fulfill specified requirements on the application and complete an interview for acceptance into this class. Interview: Friday, January 19th right after school (signup for a time); Applications due at time of interview.
