Kindergarten-Grade 2

Rosecrest Elementary created this junior program at their school in 2017 as an alternative to Battle of the Books so all students could participate in a reading incentive, not just the older grades.

Rather than having specific books on a reading list, students read three books in ten categories (thirty books in total). Upon completing each category, they receive a button for their lanyard (or backpack).

While the district does not officially run the program, we have adapted it for district-wide use.  Some schools have parent volunteers, PTA, or others who work on the program.  If you'd like to explore creating one for your school, the information is on this page.

Your school MAY be playing Best Books Junior Bingo this year (with the same categories).  Speak with your school librarian for information.

(Granite librarians can find bingo cards for BBJ ready-to-print in our shared Google Drive.)
