4/5 Reading Teacher
Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!
This year will be a grand adventure as we at Woodstock embark on a new teaching arrangement that is designed to help both the fourth and fifth grade classes learn and thrive in their education, particularly targeting reading and writing.
The fourth and fifth grade teachers will be instituting a rotation-model plan in which each teacher will be responsible for one component of your students' curriculum: reading, writing, math, science and social studies. Each teacher will still have a dedicated homeroom class assignment, but our goal is give students to the ability to learn from teachers that will be masters in their domain and within a variety of environments to help them stay engaged.
This year, I will be responsible for the reading curriculum for all fourth and fifth graders. We will focus on many key skills to help our students develop into strong, confident readers. Our desire is to build critical thinkers who can engage with text on a deeper level, ask questions, and truly appreciate the power of a good story.
Meet Mrs. Scheib
I am so excited to be your child's fourth grade teacher and/or their reading teacher! While this is my first year at Woodstock Elementary School, I've been a teacher for over thirty years. I've had the joy of teaching students at many different schools and have learned so much along the way. I'm thrilled to bring my experience and passion for learning to our school community. I can't wait to get to know each of your children and partner with you to make this a wonderful and successful year.
Eight years ago, my husband and I made the big move to Utah, and we've been so very happy. The mountains here instantly drew us in. We spend time exploring the beautiful outdoors, whether hiking new trails in the summer or hitting the slopes in the winter. Besides the incredible scenery, we enjoy the many opportunities to experience the arts by attending cultural events on campus at the University of Utah or downtown.
