As you watch the video, think about the different types of matter.

Second, use these vocabulary words to create your own definition of what is matter?

As you watch the story, think about why boats float? Boats are typically pretty heavy, so why do they float?
What properties make something sink or float?
Using the materials provided, determine if you think the items will sink or float. Why do you think the item would sink or float? What properties does the item have to make you think that way?

Stem Challenge: You are going to build a dog house! You need to make sure your dog house is waterproof. What materials could you use to help your house to stay dry? Think about how your house should look design wise so that the water can fall off the roof.
Think about:
What materials does your house need to have?
How can the dog stay dry?
How can the dog stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer?
What do you think the house should look like in order to have water (rain) fall off of it?
Use the graphic organizer to create your ideas for your waterproof dog house. Make sure to include the design of your house and what materials you need to build it. Make sure you WORK TOGETHER as a team to design and build your dog house.
