Mr. Foust's FAbulous Fourths
Woodstock Elementary
Woodstock Elementary
Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!
This year will be a grand adventure as we at Woodstock embark on a new teaching arrangement that is designed to help both the fourth and fifth grade classes learn and thrive in their education, particularly targeting reading and writing.
The fourth and fifth grade teachers will be instituting a rotation-model plan in which each teacher will be responsible for one component of your students' curriculum: reading, writing, math, science and social studies. Each teacher will still have a dedicated homeroom class assignment, but our goal is give students to the ability to learn from teachers that will be masters in their domain and within a variety of environments to help them stay engaged.
This year, I will be responsible for the science curriculum for all fourth and fifth graders. I am looking forward to hands-on learning for all my students with many opportunities to build and explore the physical and natural sciences. Also, fifth graders will be responsible for their first science fair submission (in January) to spark their personal interests in science.
Here is to a new school year!

Class science project: testing different water sources in our school (Dec. 2024)
Hands-on investigation: dissecting owl pellets to learn about what they eat and sorting bones by animal type (Oct. 2024)
Mr. Foust is married to a special education teacher with whom he shares in the joys of raising two teenage girls. He enjoys music, cooking, roller skating, being outdoors, and is able to pull-off a mustache and beard combo like no other teacher at Woodstock!

I am so excited to have your child, and your family, join my class for the 2025-26 school year. This will be my fifth year at Woodstock Elementary; having spent two years working as a paraeducator in the special education classes while finishing my Bachelors in Education (during Covid), then beginning my teaching career in fourth grade during the 2023-24 school year.
I have found Woodstock to be an incredible institution with a caring, passionate, and supportive faculty and administration. As well, the parents have been extraordinary in their engagement with students, and the school at large. It has been a privilege to be a part of this remarkable community. I look forward to the upcoming school year and helping your children grow in their academic learning, as well as their personal and social growth as they enter into their second decade life.
Say Hello to this year's Fabulous Fourths!
