Born and raised in Salt Lake City Utah, I graduated with a BFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah. Continued education to receive a teaching certificate and has been teaching secondary dance at Cottonwood High School for 20 years. I have spent many years choreographing, performing, directing, and adjudicating dance in Utah, California, and Las Vegas. Received a Masters of Arts in Dance from California State University Long Beach. I have a 500 hour Hatha Yoga certification and Meditation Certification from Aura Wellness Center, as well as a Pilates, Zumba, and Personal Trainer Certification. I have a sincere passion for dance and yoga, and most importantly two beautiful boys Nico and Frankie.
I plan to coordinate a restorative Yoga class for anyone that would like to reconnect with their body, mind, and spirit. This class is open to all employees and guest at any level. We will open up energy lines, strengthen or bodies, let go of chatter in our minds, and meditate to help calm the stress of our daily lives.
I have always been actively involved in many sports and activities. I played D1 softball in college and coached high school sports for 15 years. I have been an athletic director as well. I am currently a D1 basketball official. I look forward to leading the charge on the east side walking group.
I am so excited for the opportunity to take part in this Pilot program. I have been practicing yoga for over 15 years and I am a certified yoga intsructor. I am also a Special Education teacher and I have integrated yoga into my classes in order to teach social emotional behavioral skills and have seen first hand how effective it is. I have also experienced the physical/emotional/behavioral benefits of my own personal yoga practice. I cannot wait to share all of the wonderful things yoga has to offer on and off the mat with the amazing GSD community! I hope you join me and remember, yoga is for EVERYBODY and EVERY BODY! All levels are welcome.
I have been involved with weight training, running, walking/physical fitness his entire life. This November you will find me in Nepal, climbing Mount Everest.
I am a big fan of walking and once walked over 2,000 days in a row for at least a half hour without missing a single day! I enjoy walking because it helps me clear my mind and come up with new ideas when I am by myself and it is social when I am with others. We only have our one body so we need to take care of it. Hope to see you out on the track!
