Class overview-
This year, your student will be deepining their mathamatical abilites using the IReady math progran. They will be exploring math in our world. They will become problem solvers and critical thinkers. We will deep dive into fractions and decimals.(Multipication, division, adding and subtracting them!)
This year will be a grand adventure as we at Woodstock embark on a new teaching arrangement that is designed to help both the fourth and fifth grade classes learn and thrive in their education, particularly targeting reading and writing.
The fourth and fifth grade teachers will be instituting a rotation-model plan in which each teacher will be responsible for one component of your students' curriculum: reading, writing, math, science and social studies. Each teacher will still have a dedicated homeroom class assignment, but our goal is give students to the ability to learn from teachers that will be masters in their domain and within a variety of environments to help them stay engaged.
We will be addressing all of the four main "umbrellas" of math: Numbers and base ten opperations, mesurement and data, geometry and Algebra and Algebraic thinking.
Homework: Practice at home for 20 minutes every night using one of the approved math apps and websites! If you have any other apps, you may share.
