Dear Families,
Welcome to Kindergarten at Butcher-Greene Elementary! The 2025-26 school year is my 11th year in the Grandview School District and my 20th year in the classroom! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Educational Technology. I have also taught first grade and second grade.
I love teaching Kindergarten the most and have taught it the longest. I enjoy it so much because of all the growth students make from the beginning to the end of the year. It's awesome to see those lightbulb moments that come so frequently with Kindergarten students!
In my life outside of school, I'm busy keeping up with my four children and their schedules. I also enjoy reading, hiking, and trivia, traveling when I can, and spending time with family and pets.
If you need to reach me, email is my preferred method of contact, but you can also try my classroom phone number at
816-316-5377. However, I don’t always get a chance to look at my email or check voicemail during the school day, and if I have a meeting during my plan time, I may not even check them till after school. In addition, there will occasionally be days when I'm out of the building for meetings or personal reasons, and my substitute will not have access to my email or voicemail at all. Thank you for your patience, and I will get in touch with you as soon as I can.
We're going to have a great year! Thank you in advance for your help and support. I look forward to working with you and your student!
Sincerely,
Ms. Jacobs
