Guess what! You can learn to code at home!

If your class has been using Code.org, you can find a link below.

1. Click on your teacher's name.

2. Click on your name.

3. Click on your secret picture.

If your name is not listed, please CONTACT ME.

If you are in Ms. Gutierrez' class and you forgot your secret picture, you can click HERE to find it.

If you are in Ms. Lively's class and you forgot your secret picture, you can click HERE to find it.

NOTE: Ms. Skiff's class has not yet started Code.org. However, if your child is interested, I will be happy to create an account for him or her. Please CONTACT ME.

Learn to Code with Scratch

Want to learn how to you can create stories, animations, games, and more? Scratch is an awesome coding platform that can be used to create limitless projects.

Click on the Scratch icon above to access the site.

Click on THIS LINK to access several tutorials that will teach you how to use coding blocks in Scratch.

Click on THIS LINK to access a series of challenges that will teach students how to code using Scratch.

1. Each challenge is designed to introduce new concepts and/or blocks.

2. Most challenges have an accompanying video that demonstrates what the challenge is and then gives a few hints. (Students can watch the hints or not depending on video)

3. Many of the challenges are sequenced from beginner to advanced in a way where the build on each other and lead to a game. However, all students don’t usually complete all the challenges and they don’t necessarily have to do them in order.



Learn to Type

One of the most important skills that you can practice while you're at home is learning to type! You can click on either of the pictures below to practice typing. Contact me if you would like me to make you an account.

Nitro Type

This site lets you practice typing. You can also play against your friends in the class! Click on the Nitro Type icon above to join our class.

When you click on the link, you should select this image:


You will see a screen that looks like this:


For username, you should type the first three letters of your first name, the first three letters of your last name, and the numbers 2020. For example, my name is Rachel Cummings, so my username would be raccum2020.

You should enter the password Abc123!!!

Then, enter Abc123!!! in the password again field.

You DO NOT need to enter an email.

Then, press SIGN UP.
