2026-2027 GMS Musical Theater Class Auditions

Hello, my name is Ms. Niewiada and I am the musical theater director here at Grandville Middle School. If you enjoy singing, acting, dancing, or all of the above, this is the class for you! The musical theater class is a year-long course in which students learn the fundamentals of vocal and theater performance with a live musical production at the end of the school year. This year, the class is performing Legally Blonde JR. 

Enrollment in the course is very limited and competitive and is open to current 6th and 7th grade students. To be considered for the class, you must meet two requirements: you must 1. audition for one of the available spots and 2. be co-enrolled in a music class. For example, musical theater & band, musical theater & orchestra, or musical theater & choir.

For your audition, you will need to prepare two items: 1. a song of your choice roughly 30-60 seconds long. And 2. Prepare a 30 second monologue that you may pick from the monologue packet. Both the monologue and song will need to be memorized for your audition. Auditions will take place the week of April 20th at your school.
