After finishing second at Regionals, Gonzaga Prep’s chess team advanced to the 60th Annual State High School Chess Championship, competing against 50 top teams and 300+ players statewide. In the six-round event, Prep players made a strong showing, posting 12 wins and 1 draw. In the All-Comers Division (48 players), Shan Yi placed 3rd to bring home a trophy, and Jax Whipple finished 11th. Congratulations to the Gonzaga Prep Chess Team! (See pictures on the team page.)
