AP World History: Modern is a course associated with College Board. The College Board provides the curriculum and support for AP World History: Modern.
All students must have a College Board login using their personal email address (not their school email). Part of your first week's assignment will be to register for an account with College Board if you do not already have one. (If you took AP Human Geography last year, then you should have an account.) If you have an account, then you will continue to use that account. If your account is linked to your school email, then you need to change the email on your profile page on College Board's website.
The AP World History: Modern exam will be given on Thursday, May 11, 2023. At this point the expectation is that we will take a paper exam, but that may change. Each student will must commit to taking or not taking the exam this fall. Dates will be provided in class and on Google Classroom.
The exam consists of two sections. Section 1 consists of 55 multiple choice questions (MCQs) and three short answer questions (SAQs). Section 2 consists of one long essay question (LEQ) and one document-based question (DBQ). You will prepare for these types of questions and essays throughout the year. This means that you must both read the material assigned to you and are expected to write, a lot. More specific details are on the College Board AP World History: Modern exam webpage.
Your student will use College Board's AP Classroom tool frequently this year. If they mention an assignment on AP Classroom, this is what they are referring to. This is different from Google Classroom.
College Board provides review videos throughout the year. Your student will receive information about this on Google Classroom as the year goes on.
