General Information:

1. Honor Choir is after school on Tuesdays (5th Grade) and Wednesdays (4th Grade) from 3:45pm-4:20pm.  (see schedule below)

2. Members will lose their spot in Honor Choir ON the 3rd unexcused absence and/or ON the 3rd late pick up. Students have until 4:35pm to be picked up. Dismissal begins promptly at 4:20pm.

General Information:

1. Only 10-15 students per elementary school are chosen to perform for District Honor Choir. WAES aims to take 15 students.

2. Only DHC singers will stay after school and rehearse the music during December and January. Regular choir ends December 4th and resumes February 2nd. See schedule above for details.

3. Students will need to pay a separate fee through RevTrack, link: TBA Ms. McMillion will NOT be accepting in-person payment, as this is a DISTRICT event, not solely through WAES. Please email a receipt to Ms. McMillion at vmcmillion@galenaparkisd.com, or send a screenshot of your receipt to Ms. McMillion through School Status.

4. On Saturday, January 30th, 2027, students will wear the DHC shirt provided by their teacher, and black bottoms. Music binders are needed all day.

5. District Honor Choir students are chosen through a lottery system. The raffle is done in rehearsal in front of all students using the Wheel of Names website (https://wheelofnames.com/), to ensure a fair chance of being chosen. 15 names will be spun, and 2 alternates will be chosen. Alternates do not have to pay the fee, or stay after school unless notified by Ms. McMillion.
