With an undergraduate degree from Bennett College for Women in Greensboro, NC, a master's from Prairie View A&M University, and a School Librarian Certification from Sam Houston State University, Mrs. Tibbs has taken her knowledge and applied it as a Pre-AP ELAR teacher before she became a Library Media Specialist.
Mrs. Tibbs enjoys reading, dancing, spending time with her family, and volunteering. Some of the organizations she has assisted with are the Mustang Book Club, FBLA, National Junior Honor Society, Demoiselle Diamonds, Dictionary Skills UIL Academic Team, Leadership Team, Cobb Restorative Circle, and the Cougar Book Club. In addition to her many sponsor roles, she was also the English Language Arts Department Chair.
During her teaching career, Mrs. Tibbs received several awards including, Secondary District Teacher of the Year, Campus Teacher of the Year, GPISD Excellent Educator Award, Cobb Cougar of the Month, and Best Teacher Website. She has also received recognition for having the highest percentage of students pass and earn commended on the STAAR Test.
Wholeheartedly, Mrs. Tibbs believes that what is given to the youth today through education aids in the creation of a better tomorrow.
