B.E.S.T. is a Special Education program that provides support to elementary, middle, and high school students, who have behavioral challenges. Students in the B.E.S.T. program receive their instruction in the general education setting where they spend majority of their day, but may also be serviced through Resource, Dyslexia, Speech, OT/ PT, and Co- Teaching services. These students will also take the STAAR test. B.E.S.T. provides behavior interventions and accommodations to support students socially and behaviorally. B.E.S.T. also provides support by teaching students impulse control, self awareness, coping strategies, and appropriate social interactions. For many students, B.E.S.T. is not intended to be a long term self contained program.
