Living my life

Medelin was born at  8:15 on the morning of February 18, 2010, at Hijas de Galicia Hospital, in Havana, Cuba. Her mom, aunt, and grandma were there to receive their new family member, a beautiful baby girl. They took the new family member to their home in Artemisa, Guira de Melena, Cuba. Medelin spent the next five years living with her older sister (Emelyn), her mom, aunt, uncle, cousin, and grandma. Her father, Alexey Lopez was not able to make it to her newborn. He was living in the United States trying to make a better life for his family. When Medelin’s father reached the United States, he lived in Miami, Florida for four years. He later moved to Houston, TX. On Medelin’s fifth birthday, she left Cuba with her mom and older sister to live with her father in Houston. Medelin didn't want to leave the place where she grew up but she knew it was the best thing for her and her family. She is now 14 years old in the 8th grade. Medelin goes to Woodland Acres Middle School where she is now playing sports.

Medelin has a lot of hobbies. In school, one of her hobbies is singing. She enjoys singing because her mom used to be a singer back when she was born. She also used to basketball and volleyball at school now she is on the track team. Outside of school, Medelin plays tennis with her sister Emelyn and they enjoy it. Medelin loves to watch Asian dramas in her free time because she loves the country. That is why her other hobby is learning Korean and then speaking it in her house. One last hobby of hers is walking both her dogs around her neighborhood. She likes this because she can spend time with them and also be able to be outside.

One of her accomplishments was being able to have all advanced classes for the 8th grade. This is a big deal for her because her parents always expect the best from her. Another achievement of hers was being able to become team captain of the Volleyball A team. She was also able to become the girl's athlete of the year. She got fifth out of eighteen chairs for region choir.
