Structured Life Skills Classroom
Structured Life Skills (SLS) is a service provided by special education, where students are supported in their learning of both academic and functional skills. Here, we promote the use of daily living skills that encourage student independence.

Meet the Teacher
Hello and Welcome!
My name is Amber Richard, and I teach K-2 Life Skills at MacArthur Elementary. I am excited to learn alongside your students, as this is my first year teaching. I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2022, where I majored in Applied Learning and Development with a concentration on fostering community for youth special populations.
Fun facts: I enjoy creating art, listening to Mariah Carey, eating desserts, watching SpongeBob, spending time with my family, and going to the movies.
Meet the Paraprofessionals
We have two fantastic paraprofessionals working daily with our students in the classroom and throughout the campus. They do a great job assisting the teacher with performing tasks and supporting students in their learning.
