8th Grade Reflection

The school year 2020 to 2021 was different. It wasn't like any other year. We didn't get to finish our 7th grade year because a pandemic happened. The start of 8th grade was different. The first two weeks people couldn't go to school then after that people could start going to school but I stayed virtual. Being virtual had benefits and it also had its disadvantages.

Some of the benefits I had was that I could eat a snack whenever I wanted. I also didn't have to get up as early as if I was going to school. If we finished our work we got to get off early and have some free time. Some disadvantages I had were that I had to be on a computer all day instead of actually being there. I also haven't seen my friends in over a year. Since I wasn't in actual school I would also sometimes get distracted instead of finishing my work. But school isn't the only thing that's changed. We would have to wear masks if we went out, drown our hands in hand sanitizer, and we had to stay away from all people that didn't live in our house. Being at home started to get boring but I also didn't want to go to school because I didn't want to go to one of my elective classes. After January things went by fast. Next thing you know we are already taking the STAAR test. Every semester more and more kids were going back face to face. After the STAAR test I was so nervous to see if I would pass. The one I was most nervous about was social studies. I had been having a hard time with it but i still haven't gotten my result for it. I got masters in Algebra and Science and I got meets in reading. I was really happy to hear I got masters on two of my STAAR tests because it hadn't been the best year.

Overall my last year of middle school wasn't the best but I still had a good year. I want to thanks the people who pushed me hard like Ms. Gracia, Mr. Skipper, Ms. Pingsterhaus, Mr. Lira, and especially my parents. They have really helped me and i hope they know how much they did.
