You must use and check your district email regularly and start setting up your Google account, which the district provides. Here's an example of how your email and Google (gpapps) accounts work.

Both accounts will use your universal password; for most of our programs, your username will be your first initial and last name. Should you have any questions about your email, please let me know.

Make sure to sign up for the 24-25 New Teacher Group to receive all training and event information. We will communicate through Outlook Group throughout the year.

All teachers in Galena Park ISD must have and maintain a website.

Galena Park I.S.D. is pleased to offer you and your eligible dependents various employer-paid and employee-paid health benefits.  As a new employee of the District, you can waive or enroll in benefits within 31 days of your active work date (your hire date). Suppose you do not enroll in benefits within 31 days of your actively-at-work date. In that case, you will be ineligible for benefits until next year’s Open Enrollment, which occurs annually July-August or at the time of a qualifying event.

All employee benefits are payroll deducted on each semi-monthly paycheck.

The morning will be all new elementary teachers together. The afternoon will be conference-style PD as teachers can choose the PD they attend. Registration for the New Teacher Elementary C&I will open on July 18th. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns.
