Not having to go to another school felt sort of refreshing knowing people at lunch but, it also kind of sucked because of the extra time we had to relax when we were on the bus. Having Encounters more than once felt great because I was able to work more on my project and get a break from the other classes. Having Encounters more times than once a week or having it in the same school as you will take some time getting used to.
One of the things that I will have to get used to is not having the bus ride which can help reduce the amount of time you’re at school. One of the good things is that while I was at Cobb I had Encounters there instead of going to a different school which helped me get used to the same thing at WAMS. Another good thing about not going to another school is you either have more time to work on the challenge of the mind project or relax waiting for the other students to arrive for the field trip. One of the things that Cobb didn’t help with was having it more than just on Wednesdays or any other day of the week.
When I arrived at WAMS we had it every other day which was exciting and a lot more efficient. We were able to work on so many more projects than having it once a week. Even though we didn’t have the extra time to rest or work on school work, we still had some extra time available. It was fun getting multiple days of Encounters instead of having just one. We had a lot more time to complete our projects and work which enabled us to learn more than what we were normally able to learn. Having encounters more than once a week and having more time felt more efficient and exciting.
In total having Encounters multiple times a week and having more time to work on our projects was a lot more efficient than wasting time by taking the bus. It was fine in 7th grade except when I wasn’t able to go back to school because of covid. It had made everything so much worse especially since the beginning of the year was all hectic and then the end of the year was gonna leave a massive mess, and this was all because of coronavirus and it ruined the happy ending but at least we were able to continue school online thanks to technology. So even though there was some getting used to having encounters in the same school and having it multiple times a week was efficient and fun with the great teachers we have.
