Entering the 6th grade was nerve racking since I was going to a new school with many new people. The first day I entered I walked in and heard someone from my elementary school say my name and I instantly tried to hide in my jacket and hurried to get my schedule. The schedules were messed up at the beginning, but eventually they got them fixed and they were correct. I didn't really have many friends and mostly stayed with people from elementary. The reason that I didn't make friends at the beginning was mostly because I’m not good at talking or starting conversations with people, especially new people. Later on I talked to more people and had some friends. I liked all of my teachers that I had and had good grades in each one. One of my teachers was Mrs. Welch, she was a really nice person and a good teacher. One of my other teachers was Mr. Skipper, he is an honest person and corrects other people on their mistakes.
One of the classes I was most excited about was encounters since I was curious how it was going to work in middle school and the things we were going to make. Since the schedules were messed up there were two different encounter 6 classes, but when they got fixed the both classes got put in one. After a couple of weeks we started choosing our subtopics for the research paper and also started to plan our shadow boxes. With my shadow box I made little progress at first then I started to turn out like I wanted to. In encounters we also made shields to represent the shields during the middle ages. I was really excited to make them and be able to paint them, sadly we did not get the chance to paint them. For the research paper my subtopics were Merlin the magician, Dragons, and Feudalism.
During spring break we all thought it was going to pass and we were going to return to school, but it did not happen that way. We all went in lock down because of the coronavirus and school had to be online. The classes being online were weird and I didn't have a good work routine, but I still tried to do my work for my classes. Know that I'm still online for school I have gotten better at doing my work and have finished almost all of it.
