WELCOME TO MY CLASSES!

Hello class of 2026 and 2027!

My name is Jane Ellis, and I teach AP Biology and Environmental Systems.  I LOVE science and can't wait to share that with you! I come from a science background. I graduated from LSU with a degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology. I was a biomedical researcher at the University of Arkansas, Louisana State University, and UTMB in Galveston. I have studied everything from rice rust, to genetically engineering crops to deter pests, developmental biology, virology, prostate cancer, and Ebola. Both AP Biology and Environmental Systems are quickly paced classes. 

I am also the sponsor for the Science National Honor Society. I will be posting more information about that after school begins. There are requirements, like overall GPA, science GPA, and number of AP science courses. If you are interested and are an AP science student, please look for upcoming messages about how to join.

Our daily schedule has changed to 5 classes per day. Below is the new schedule for this year:

2nd Period: Environmental Systems 8:33 - 9:55

A Lunch 9:58 - 10:28

3rd Period: Environmental Systems 10:36 - 11:44

4th Period: Conference 11:47 - 1:17

5th Period: AP Biology 1:20 - 2:50

6th Period: AP Biology 7:05 - 8:30

7th Period: Environmental Systems 8:33 - 9:55

8th Period: Environmental Systems 10:36 - 11:44

9th Period: Conference 11:47 - 1:17

My virtual times to communicate with parents are:

Monday,  Wednesday, Friday: 6:30 - 6:45 am (except during duty week)

Monday, and Wednesday,: 1:00 - 2:00

It is easiest to contact me by email, because I can't answer the phone when teaching. I am able to answer an email many times throughout the day. Please email me if you would like to set up a virtual conference. If  these times do not work with your schedule, please say so in the email and we can plan a time convenient for you.
