  • Investing in your child's education is important, because it can impact their success. They will value their education as they become older.

  • First grade is a crucial grade, because it sets the foundation for the rest of their learning journey.

  • ALL students are different and learn at their own pace.

  • Some students need extra help and time, while others need to be challenged with the curriculum. Each learning style is valued in my classroom.

  • Having parent support helps your child have a successful year with behavior and academics.  I CAN NOT do it alone. I believe in the saying "It takes a village"

  • Learning never ends.

  • Here are some resource for students...

Classlink

  • Students will use classlink EVERYDAY in class.

  • In order for students to access the following apps, they must log into classlink first.

  • Students will type their user and password.

How to log into Classlink

  1. Google "Normandy Crossing Elementary"

  2. Click "Students" tab then "ClassLink"

  3. Students will input their log in and click "Sign In"

Students may use ClassLink apps to practice at home. I am highlight a few apps we will use in the classroom....

RAZ Kids

  • Based on their individual reading level, they will have books they can read.

  • They can read the book independently, have the story read to them and even take a quiz (I do not grade the quizzes).

  • This app is highly recommended to begin using at home today.  It keeps them reading.

  •  When students are ready to move up in their reading level, different books will generate for them to read.

Epic

  • This is a great resource to begin using at home.

  • The books on this app are not leveled, but its a great way to get the kids excited and reading at home.

  • The app only works for free access during school hours. This app is good to use during holiday breaks.

STEM scopes

  • This app is a great Math resource. I sometimes will assign students different activities based on the skill we are working on.

  • Once they complete the assignment, they can "turn in".

  • The assignments are not graded.

i-Ready

  • Students will use this website a lot during the school year.

  • They will work on many Math concepts based on their level.

  • The goal is to help close the gap or challenge students based on their level.

  •  As they grow and develop, the program change the level of math lessons.
