Students have homework Monday through Thursday.
Every Monday, I will send home their sight words. They will cut them into flash cards.
Do not throw them away after each week. Save them in a zip lock bag.
Review them daily at home. Spend no more than 5-10 minutes on sight words daily.
It should take no more than 3 seconds for students to read a sight word.
Graded work is completed in first grade. On Fridays (sometimes Thursday's) this folder will go home.
The folder contains all their weekly graded work. Please review, sign and return everything the following school day.
Thursdays and Fridays are assessment days. Its important students do not miss on these days.
It can be a challenge to get them caught up when we are having to move on and teach new concepts the following week.
Missing days can significantly impact their grades and development.
When students don't attend school, they are missing out on instruction.
When students are absent, they are having to make up assignments (when time allows) on top of learning new concepts.
This may cause them to fall behind. It's important for your child to attend school everyday so they are progressing during the school year.
