Ways to Incorporate Math
Here are some easy ways to incorporate math throughout the day:
Count everything! (blocks, cereal, books, words in books, etc.)
Cook or Bake with an adult
Go on a shape hunt (shapes are all around us!)
Play store
Play card or board games (go fish... great for number recognition!)
Measure and Record (How far can you jump, etc.)
Build towers
Make patterns (Use anything! I even had a kiddo make a pattern with his hands and feet!)
Sort toys by color, shape, size
Draw numbers or shapes and have the kiddos jump from number to number or shape to shape (Hopscotch, works also)
Take surveys (Do you like chocolate or vanilla ice cream?, They could call up friends or relatives and get their opinions)
