A Peek into our Classrooms

Warm and Inviting

Our classrooms are warm and inviting, designed with young children in mind. There are places for students to explore, calm down, and get messy.

Interest Areas

Each classroom has at least 8 different "Interest Areas." These areas include: Art, Book Nook, Dramatic Play, Puzzles and Games, Exploration Station, Construction Zone, Listening, Writing, and Computers. These areas have a variety of different materials for children to explore.

Print Rich

Print Is everywhere In our classrooms. You will find books in each interest area, labels with photos on every shelf, and a variety of tools for students to practice their writing skills.

Representation

All students are represented in our classrooms. Student's names, photographs, unit projects, books created by the students, and student artwork are all displayed in and around each room as well as our school common spaces.

Designed with Children in Mind

The classroom is set up with students in mind. Toys, signs, shelves, and tables are at the students’ level. We encourage independence and personal responsibility by making things available for each child.

Real and Natural

Each classroom has collections of natural materials like shells, rocks, feathers, keys, and more. You will also find real tools such as mirrors, magnifying glasses, and scissors.
