My name is Paula Weese. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree (specializing in theatre) and a Bachelor of Education. I LOVE my job and have been teaching since 2005. I feel very lucky to have found my passion in life. My favourite moments teaching are when students have the ¨Ah-ha Moments¨ and they understand something that has previously evaded them.
I have a sister and a brother who live near London. My two nieces and nephew, Sophie, Charlotte, and Ewan are the lights of my life. They make me smile everyday. I have a pug named Winston and a morkie named Louie. I thought Winston looked like Winston Churchill when he was born and so he aquired his name! Louie's full name is Prince Louie Love (named by my nieces).
I love creating, coffee and learning. I am very active. I play volleyball in the winter and baseball in the summer. I was very lucky as a child because my parents let me try out a variety of sports. I even made the varsity badminton team in university. I found my true love, the theatre, in high school while performing in many musicals and plays. I taught theatre for a company when I lived in Toronto for many years. I was the Vice-President of a theatre in Ingersoll when I lived there. Drama and dance continue to be a source of joy in my life.
My teaching philosophy revolves around capturing the imagination of my students through hands on, interactive, and creative learning opportunities. You will soon hear all about these from the students! Through my years of teaching, I have predominantly taught grade eight and my depth of knowledge about this grade's content and curriculum is vast. Preparing students with the knowledge and learning skills they need for high school is at the forfront of all we will do this year!
Well, that is a start when it comes to me. I look forward to meeting all of you and supporting my students in any way I can so that they can reach their goals!
Take a look around this site to see what it offers. This will be an important reference for students and parents!
