Expectations for Rotary French:
Upon my arrival to your classroom for French, make sure that you are prepared for learning complete with pencil and cahier. Get started on bell work and prepare yourself for the intro question of the day.
Participate willingly, actively, safely, and appropriately in class activities.
Respect yourself, classmates (and their space), the classroom and your French teacher while in class. Make sure to wear your mask properly. Treat others how you would like to be treated.
Submit all homework and assignments on time, including returning signed portfolios. Make up and missed work or tests upon return to school and within one (1) week (five school days) from date absent.
Encouragement and Consequences:
Demonstrating good behaviour as a whole class can earn your class marbles, "Un Pot de Billes". Once your classroom’s jar is full you are rewarded with "Un Jour Libre".
Good behaviour includes: following COVID safety protocols, showing respect for others and their space, helping a classmate or teacher, encouraging friends and classmates, being prepared, having homework complete, and having tests signed and returned on time.
Also by demonstrating good behaviour and participation you can accumulate (from day to day) "VINGT Lumières Vertes" and your name will be signed to a laminated playing card where draws will be made per classroom weekly (or by the discretion of the teacher).
If your card is drawn, you can choose a prize from the prize box or get a star. Star prizes are things like wearing your hat in class, having half of a class WORKFREE, chewing gum, listening to music (on your own device), playing French games on the computer, or choosing a prize from the prize box to be cashed in during any class that the teacher is present in (not for supply teachers) and is permitted for that class.
Green lights can be accumulated for participation, for being on task, working hard, and for helping others.
These green lights can be taken away for negative behaviours like not abiding by COVID safety protocols, not listening, being disrespectful, not having homework done, not having tests/assignments signed, bullying, being unprepared, or being off task.
Class behaviour will be followed regularly with your French teacher and homeroom teacher.
