I'm not really into 'homework' and 'science' doesn't really back it up, but I strongly encourage:
-READ every night - ~ 20 mins (or more?!?!)- on your own, to others, have people read to you, and/or listen to audiobooks too!
- Math Facts, Math Facts, Math Facts!! Our (almost daily ) number talks will focus on Adding, (SEPT, OCT) Subtracting (NOV, DEC), Multiplying (JAN, FEB, MAR) Dividing (AP, MAY, JUNE)! Use cards, dice, games...
- Watch for occasional AT HOME assignments that may require parental/guardian help - examples: listing family traditions or going on an at-home science scavenger home...
- Complete ‘finish up’ items. IF this is necessary, we've probably already talked and these will be written in the Agenda.
- PLAY— Not screen play – go outside or be ACTIVE or CREATE something... Help in a garden, do yoga, walk or run, jump, bike, scooter, make sidewalk chalk art, dig, climb, log roll down the hill, play board games, card games, make crafts, draw, paint, sing, dance, or clean something… get a little dirty and a lot sweaty!
- Eat (and talk) with your family — and help! Chop, cook, set the table, and clean up.
- Help out - do a chore or something kind :)
- Get a good night’s sleep – set a routine for calm and relaxation – meditate, read, brush and floss your teeth, lights out around the same time** each night… and get ready to learn MORE again tomorrow!
