Make sure you understand what the question is asking.
Underline,circle or highlight key words in both the question stem and the answer choices.
Always read ALL of the answer choices, even when the first or second answer choice looks correct.
Think of the multiple choice options as a series of true / false statements.
Cover the answer options, read the question stem, and try to answer without looking at the possible answers.
Use the process of elimination:
cross off any answer choices that are clearly wrong, then
cross off any answer choices that are partially wrong, then
cross off any answer choices that are true - but have nothing to do with the question, then
re-read the answer choices which remain “open.” - pick the one that is most true
Answer every question. Make sure you have NOT left any blanks.
And if all else fails, making an educated guess is acceptable.
