PHOTOGRAPHY - Level 1 & Level 2

Most young people take photos regularly for personal use and to share on social media. With digital photography classes, learn how to use your own devices to take better photos as well as having opportunities with more advanced photographic equipment and lighting techniques with school equipment and cameras. Lessons start in a digital computer lab with access to professional editing software like Adobe Photoshop, but there are many opportunities to get out and use your camera skills on the Montcalm property and in our studio. This is an excellent opportunity for any student interested in pursuing journalism, photography, multi-media production, or graphic design to add to a portfolio of work.

Photography - Level 1 (AWQ3M)

College/University prerequisite - AVI10 or AVI20

This is an introduction to photography. Learn about mastering your own device and developing skills with our DSLR cameras. Design and composition lessons are applied to hands-on projects such as food photography and photojournalism. Master editing your photos to improve them or create artistic effects on Photoshop. Learn how to touch up your own portrait photos. Study current photographers and how photography both shapes and reflects the world.

Photography - Level 2 (AWQ4M)

College/University prerequisite - AWQ3M

Advance your photography and photo editing skills. Master DSLR camera techniques. Design and composition lessons are applied to hands-on projects such as motion and studio photography. Master editing your photos to improve them or create artistic effects on Photoshop. Learn to repair and restore photos. Study current photographers and how photography both shapes and reflects the world. Build a portfolio for post-secondary.
