Science Fair is an opportunity for students to engage in activities to promote critical thinking and problem-solving through developing inquiry-based projects. Emphasis is placed on Grade 9 and 10 students to complete through their Science curriculum ISPs, with all students having an opportunity, if interested, to compete at the regionally Thames Valley Science and Engineering Fair.
Interested students have the opportunity to participate in problem-solving exercises intended to hone students’ skills and promote innovative ideas to develop creative solutions to various challenges.
Each year the following contests are offered to interested students:
Avogadro, Chem 13 News Exam, U of Toronto National Biology Competition, Brain Bee, Polar Stick Competition, Sir Isaac Newton Physics Exam, Michael Smith Science Challenge

High school students from A.B. Lucas Secondary School with a passion for science, technology, engineering and business competing in the First Robotics Competition. Combining the excitement of sports with the rigors of science and technology, we call the FIRST Robotics Competition the ultimate Sport for the Mind. High-school student participants call it “the most fun you’ll ever have.”
HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition for students with interests in pursuing careers in health professions. HOSA is 100% health care!
Science club is an after school club, run by senior students with a passion for science. Members of the club will complete fun, engaging activities with the focus on increasing one's passion and understanding of Science. Club members will also be encouraged to participate in other Science initiatives, such as: Science contests, Science Olympics, and engineering competitions.
