When looking for scholarship information, do not limit yourself to a specific major, but also check related areas. For example, majors related to business could include accounting, banking, finance, economics, business administration, or marketing.

Complete the forms neatly. Type the application if possible. Neatness does count.
Check your work for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. Correct errors neatly.
Have your work proofread.
When asking for a written recommendation, allow plenty of time for your writer. Also give your writer the scholarship criteria and a summary of your activities.
Ask your writer if their recommendation may also be used with other scholarship applications.
Include all necessary materials with the application. If you include copies of newspaper articles, awards, or other materials, they should be of good quality.
