Jr. High
7th and 8th grade
7th and 8th grade
Hi students! I’m your school counselor, here to help you with school, friends, goals, and anything that comes up. You don’t have to handle things alone!
Some ways I can help:
Academic support & study skills
Career and goal exploration
Friendship & peer conflict support
Stress management & coping strategies
Preparing for high school success
Career exploration helps you start thinking about your interests, strengths, and what kinds of jobs might fit you in the future — even if you have no idea yet what you want to do (that’s totally okay!).
1. 7th Grade – Manufacturing Day October 2
Students will take a bus to visit two local companies to learn more about the careers and opportunities available right here in our community. This hands-on experience helps students see how skills learned in school connect to real-world jobs and industries in their own backyard.
2. Career Clusters Exploration in classrooms
Students will explore the 16 National Career Clusters — from Health Science to Information Technology.
They will learn about the skills, interests, and school subjects connected to each career area. This helps students begin identifying potential pathways that match their strengths and passions.
3. 8th Grade – NVCTC Exploration Day (Held in Grafton) January TBA
8th graders from around the area will spend an afternoon at North Valley Career & Technology Center in Grafton. Students will rotate through classrooms to hear from different guest speakers representing a variety of career fields.
This event gives students a firsthand look at programs and professions they may want to pursue in high school and beyond.

🧠 Jr. High Counselor Reminders
1. Stay Organized!
Keep track of assignments and due dates. A planner or phone reminder can help a lot — especially as classes get busier.
2. Ask for Help Early.
If something feels confusing — in class, with friends, or at home — reach out to a teacher, counselor, or trusted adult. You’re never alone!
3. Be Kind.
Small things matter — a smile, holding a door, including someone new. Kindness builds a positive school environment for everyone.
4. Take Care of Yourself.
Get enough sleep, eat breakfast, and take short breaks. A healthy body helps a healthy mind!
5. Set Small Goals.
Think of one thing you want to improve — grades, friendships, or organization — and work toward it each week.
6. Check In.
Stop by the counseling office if you need to talk, set goals, or just need a quiet moment. That’s what we’re here for!
Tip of the Month:
“Break big projects into smaller steps — check off each one as you go!”
Other tips:
Color code your notebooks & folders
