We're learning about...

Students are learning to write a clear and complete recount of a story. We are listening to the Blue Spruce nominated books and discussing the characters, problem, setting, and sequence of events.

In Grade 2 science, we are learning about water and air. We are excited to be visiting the Groundwater Festival on Friday May 24th.

We will begin a new unit on soil this month. Students will be taking samples, observing and experimenting with soil. They will be researching and presenting their learning.

In April, we will start a unit on skipping. Students will work on individual skipping, turning and group skipping.

The students are listening to books nominated for this year's Blue Spruce Award. This is an award given to a Canadian author for their children's book, and is awarded by children from across Canada. We will listen to the ten nominated books and then vote after Easter weekend.
