Life can feel heavy—especially when you're carrying the weight of past trauma, anxiety, or emotional pain. Maybe you’ve tried to “move on” but still feel stuck. Maybe you're overwhelmed, burnt out, or unsure how to take the next step forward. You’re not alone—and healing is possible.
I’m a licensed trauma therapist in Centralia, Washington, specializing in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) - an evidence-based approach that helps individuals process and resolve deep-rooted emotional pain, often in fewer sessions than traditional therapy. Whether you're working through trauma, grief, or a major life transition, my approach is strength-based, person-centered, and tailored to you.
I work best with motivated individuals who are ready to invest in themselves and take an active role in their healing journey. I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions, with Sunday morning appointments - a flexible option for those with busy weekday schedules. I accept several insurance plans as well as private pay, with reduced fees available on a limited basis.
As an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, I provide a safe, inclusive space where you can show up fully as you are. Therapy with me is a collaborative process—one where your insight is honored, and together we develop tools and strategies you can carry with you long after our work together ends.
Where would you like to start?
I came to this work through my own mental health journey — and I know firsthand how transformative the right support can be. I specialize in helping adults navigate trauma, grief, and life transitions using Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) as my primary modality. ART is a powerful, evidence-based approach that helps people process distressing memories and experiences without needing to share every detail — often producing meaningful relief in fewer sessions than traditional talk therapy.
My approach is trauma-informed and person-centered, meaning I meet you where you are and tailor our work to your specific needs and goals. Whether you're processing a painful past, navigating a major life change like divorce, loss, or identity shifts, or simply trying to feel more like yourself again — this is a space where that work can happen.
Since 2017, I've worked with teens, adults, and families across a wide range of challenges. I'm LGBTQIA+ affirming and committed to creating a space where every client feels safe, understood, and empowered to grow.
Hi, I’m Melissa Good (she/her), a licensed counselor based in Centralia, WA. I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from Saint Martin’s University, and my BA—with a minor in Gender Studies—from the University of Washington.
In addition to being a therapist, I’m also a mom to two amazing young adults. I’ve experienced the ups and downs of single parenting, supported one of my children through their gender transition, and navigated the challenges of virtual schooling during the pandemic with my youngest. These life experiences deeply inform my work—I know what it’s like to face uncertainty, advocate for your kids, and grow through difficult seasons.
Outside of the therapy room, I recharge by spending time in nature—there’s nothing like the calm of the trees to ground me. I share my home with a small, lively crew: two cats, and an axolotl. In the evenings, you’ll often find me unwinding with a good book or a favorite movie.
Individual counseling sessions are available in person at my Centralia office or via telehealth for anyone in Washington State.
These sessions are your time to sort through whatever is on your mind. We can work on coping skills, interpersonal issues, anxiety, depression. Tell me your goals and we will work together to accomplish them. You are the driver of your treatment and I am here to help guide you along the way.
Sometimes weekly therapy isn't enough — or life simply doesn't allow for it. ART intensives offer a concentrated, immersive experience designed to help you move through trauma, grief, or major life transitions more quickly than traditional weekly sessions allow.
Intensives are tailored to you and can range from a single extended session to a structured 1–3 day experience. Each intensive includes a pre-intensive intake session to ensure we're aligned on focus and intention, and dedicated processing time using Accelerated Resolution Therapy. An optional post-intensive integration session is available to help consolidate your progress.
Intensives are ideal for clients who have done some prior therapy work and are ready to go deeper, those with limited weekday availability, or out-of-town clients traveling to Centralia for focused healing work. Intensives are private pay only. Contact me to discuss your goals and find the right format for you.
I use Stripe to process all credit, debit, or HSA/FSA cards. I also accept cash at time of service, after the initial session, though I require a card be kept on file.
