About

About My Practice

I came into this work experiencing my own mental health struggles throughout life. I want to help others realize their potential and experience growth in whatever form that comes to be for them. My goal is to meet you where you're at and to help you find the path that leads to where you want to go.

I use an eclectic style pulling form many different theories of counseling such as: Humanistic, Cognitive, Behavioral, Psychoanalytic, and Systemic. I use techniques that help you build the skills you need be successful and process through your emotions.

I am an EMDR in training therapist. This means I have completed the initial training and am working on my consultation hours to become fully trained. EMDR can be a very helpful form of therapy that makes it possible to process past experiences without having to share all the details.

I have been in this field since 2017. I have experiences working with teens and adults, in individual and family settings. I have worked with individuals transitioning, individuals with suicidal ideation, depression, and anxiety.

About Me

Hi! My name is Melissa Good. I completed my Master of Arts in Counseling at Saint Martin's University and my BA with a minor in gender studies at University or Washington. I am a mom of 2 young adults. I know first hand the struggles of single parenting. I have experience supporting one of my children as they went through gender transition and watched as them grow into the amazing person they were always meant to be. My youngest is in high school and we have experienced all the challenges of attending school virtually during the pandemic. What a time!

I enjoy getting out into nature whenever possible. I find the trees bring me peace and heal my soul. I love animals and have 1 dogs, a cat, and an axolotl. At the end of the day you can usually find me decompressing with a good movie or book.
