Overthinking
Sabrina Smokler '23
My art piece centers around the idea of mental health. The two faces overlapping the face in the middle are meant to symbolize a person's inner feelings while overthinking and dealing with anxiety. In contrast, the face in the middle represents the realistic view of what a person looks like while dealing with these emotions, reflective of the idea of stoicism.

open your EYES

People say eyes are the guide to someone’s soul. Expressions are easy to change. Happy, sad, mad all able to imitate. Eyes however cannot fake emotions.
Rose

This piece was done in quarantine last year. I was extremely bored and fell back on my love to sketch, in order to keep me busy. The only materials that I used were a pencil and paper.
Sunset

This art piece was made in Ibis Paint X with a canvas of 768 x 1024. I was inspired by a painting I saw on instagram and wanted to draw a sunset as well.

This is a photo of a purple three sided flower. I was inspired after a rainy day to see raindrops on the plants and flowers, and found this one particularly interesting.
The Work Ahead
Aliza Bieber '24
This is a drawing of a girl staring at a pile of books and work with a ladder she knows must be climbed. During Covid with all of our free time, I feel that so much more work is given, so I drew a picture of what a night is like when the workload is endless.
Camp
Emily Schall '22
I drew a camp setting to show the peace and calmness that comes with being outside. Camp has always been a special place for me which inspired me to draw this.
The Ballet in Color
Tali Goldman '23
This pastel ballerina is inspired by one of Edgar Degas’ works. I felt drawn to the loose and delicate tone of his style, conveying softness and stillness through blurry lines and a cool color palette. I love the dancer’s costume, a more formal, put together look juxtaposed with her casual posture, like she is taking a break. While drawing this piece, I enjoyed experimenting with pastel techniques and capturing the ballerina’s grace, but also her humanity.
Grassy Perspective
Oren Goldman '25
This is a photo of a tree with pink leaves and grass in front of it. When taking it, I crouched down lower to get the perspective of what an ant would see on the ground. This photo makes me feel calm and peaceful when I look at the colors and plants in it.
Got to Find My Own Way
Shoshie Newman '24
I was at the zoo and I liked the area, so I decided to photograph it. The two different paths represent someone’s life; they need the choose which way they want to go to in order to become happy.
