In the United States chronic low back pain is among the leading causes of pain, disability, and personal suffering. Those living with chronic low back pain often face substantial challenges. Our laboratory specializes in research on chronic low back pain. In addition to using surveys and interviews to understand the experience of living and coping with pain, we explore how virtual reality may affect the pain experience.
This study is called "Examining responses to scenes in VR". In this study, people with chronic low back pain spend three minutes experiencing virtual reality scenery and then share their responses through surveys and interviews. Participants receive $45 for their time.
