Welcome to the 2024-25 academic year. This semester the EHS student will be faced with the exciting challenge of the Early Release program and its responsibilities. As you know, this program allows students to work off-campus and receive classroom credits. This is a great opportunity to begin examining careers while learning what it takes to be a successful member of today’s workforce.
Below is a list of documents describing the Early Release program and requirements--for the course. All documents must be uploaded to Google Classroom on-time to earn credit and pass the hours of Early Release for which he/she is enrolled. In order to pass Early Release and receive credit(s) for graduation---ALL forms below MUST be turned in due to State of Kansas Regulations. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
EARLY RELEASE PROGRAM COURSE OUTLINE:
Mandatory Meetings – must attend one at the beginning of each semester - those students who were in the class 1st semester will not be required to meet with Mrs. Salazar
1st Semester: First day of school
2nd Semester: First day back from winter break
Failure to meet with Mrs. Salazar could be dismissal from Early Release Program.

1. Early Release Program Requirements (Syllabus) ****READ CAREFULLY-----TODAY!!
2. Student and Employer Information Sheet . If you change jobs during the semester, you will need to complete a new online form which is located on the Early Release Google Classroom
4. Paycheck Stub Form (Completed EVERY 2 Weeks with COPY or Original Paycheck Stub) This will be completed online in Google Classroom
***Paychecks are due within 2 weeks of the issue date. After this 2-week period, you will receive a zero because it is LATE
5. Final Semester Paper -- Each student will write a 1-page paper, typed, 12-font, and double-spaced --due each semester they are enrolled in the class. It will describe their experience at their job(s), the company, their position, training, customer issues and how reconciled, working with colleagues, ethical dilemmas, and any other details or information regarding the job. If you turn in the same paper for both 1st and 2nd Semester, you will receive an automatic 0 and you will not be given a 2nd opportunity to resubmit.
6. Employer Evaluation---If they are not completed by your employer by this date, you will receive 0 / 100 points. It is your responsibility to make sure I have the correct email address or supply me a different email at least 2 weeks before the due date.
YOUR JOB/EMPLOYER:
You MUST have a job by when school begins for each semester. If you are NOT employed by that time, your counselor will contact you to select new, on-campus classes.
ALL STUDENTS: Please inform me of ANY changes of employment (fired or changed jobs) WITHIN 24 HOURS of it occurring---failure to do so may result in being taken out of Early Release, enrolled in new classes, or receiving a failing grade for one or all Early Release hours!!
