I grew up in a small farm town in Western Kansas called Phillipsburg. My family has lived on the same farmstead for more than 150 years. My father and brother are both farmers and my mother retired from education after teaching 39 years in Phillipsburg. She inspired my to be a teacher due to her dedication and commitment to the career and children.
After high school, I attended Fort Hays State University and majored in Business Education. (1994-1998) While attending FHSU, I also participated in the Track and Field program where I threw the javelin where I was a 3-Time All American and 4-Time Academic All American. The love of this sport continues today with me coaching the throwers here at Eisenhower High School.
After graduating from FHSU, I began my first teaching position at Goddard High School as a Technology Teacher. I am now at Eisenhower High School and starting my 28th year in the district. I am active in many aspects at EHS.
