Interpretive Gardens
The garden beds trimmed in white stone are designed to provide the passerby a small and up-close glimpse of all the native perennials that can be found in this region of Kansas. Each season brings to life a different look, texture, and an eco-system of activity to each garden bed.
Depending on the time of year one visits, there are a variety of plants and trees to look for and examine their growth, color change, and seed dispersal. This link will help identify names of native plants in these gardens based upon the colors of flowers or leaves you see and the time of year one visits.
