Hygienic Waste

If you are asking yourself,"BWA has a plan for lack of water, but what are they going to do about sanitation?"then that question is about to be answered. BWA is trying to reach out to the 33% of people who don't have an adequate toilet and cant wash their hands. This mission is associated with the salihealth mission. We said in the salihealth mission that we would pump the filtered water to fountains and sinks. This is part of the sanitation mission as well. Since hand-washing is managed and handled, BWA moved on to another major problem with sanitation that has been mentioned multiple times. This problem is none other than the lack of toilets. Some don't have a toilet and others don't have an adequate one. A solution that BWA thought of was a flexible, plastic bowl that is in the shape of a toilet bowl. This toilet bowl would have a toilet seat as well. The user would dig a hole in the ground to place the bowl in. The bottom of the bowl would have a hole. A bag would be attached to the hole. When the bag gets full, the user would see waste in the toilet bowl. The edges of the bag would be attached to the upper insides of the bowl so the user wouldn't have to get their hands completely dirty. The user would remove the bag and empty/bury it somewhere offsite. This way the toilet wouldn't stink and the waste would fertilize the ground. The bag would be made of biodegradable material such as paper and wool. The paper would be covered in a hydrophobic substance that makes it water proof. This way the waste wouldn't leak through and if you wanted to reuse a bag and wash it, you could. This substance would also be sprayed onto the toilet and toilet seat. This would help repel germs and other unwanted liquids. This kit would also come with toilet paper. That is BWA's solution to sanitation.
