Goat Records

Project Books and Farmbrite

All of our farm information is kept in FarmbriteClick the logo below to login using the login info in your goat packet.

Once you login click on Livestock on the left-hand side. Find your goat. Alternately, you can go to Livestock Groups and choose that year's show.

Click on your goat to see the Details screen.  Here you will see the details of your goat with some of the information you need for your fair registration forms and project book including registration numbers, tattoos, birthdate, and full name (which is under Description).  You will also see any recent activity related to your goat.

Notes: This will show you random notes for your goat for things that are not included in other categories.

Schedule and Tasks: This includes things on your goat's schedule such as vaccinations, hoof trims, etc. We also include tasks for things we need to do, such as clipping for show!  We will always try to schedule plans for your goat when you can be here to assist.

Treatments: You will need this information for your project book for all treatments beginning with the date of your lease.

Feedings: You will also need this for your project book. While we don't put every feeding in, we did create an entry for all feed and minerals.  You will need to do the math for that for each day of your lease period according to current prices below:

Let's use Breeze as an example.

This is her daily expense:
Hay = 3 x 6.12 = $18.36
Minerals = .03 x $1.40 = .042
Sweet Feed = 3 x .30 = .90
Show Feed = 6 x .70 = 4.20
Total = $23.50 per day
Note this is an average and the hay expense goes down out of show season when they eat less of the expensive peanut hay!

Measurements: These are your goats measurements/weights which you should take once a month during one of your visits.

Breeding: This will include your goat's breeding dates and buck as well as pregnancy testing.

Offspring: These are your goat's kids.  If your goat is in milk the judge will ask you when she last freshened (had kids), so memorize that date.

Siblings: Here are your goat's siblings if they live on the farm!

Genealogy: This is your goat's family tree or what we call pedigree in the goat world.  If you want to dive deeper into the pedigree of your goat, go to ADGA Genetics and put in your goat's name!

Yield: This is a very important section that includes your goat's dairy record.  Because we just moved to using Farmbrite after drying up in 2023 there are not any records until they come back in milk for 2024. If you have a dairy goat in milk, you will need to keep track of her production records.

Photos and Files: Pretty easy - these are photos and files related to your goat!
