This Summer School will take place in person in Granada on 11-13 June 2025 and it will provide an interdisciplinary and international learning environment for PhD students and young professionals to enhance their skills in developing advanced human skin tissue models. The activities include theoretical lectures, hands-on workshops, brainstorming sessions, and cultural experiences. Through these activities, participants will establish collaborations with leading researchers and institutions in the field of skin tissue engineering.
To apply for the UGRSKINTECH International Doctoral Summer School, applicants must submit the following documents:
Curriculum Vitae (CV) (max. 5 pages): Clearly stating your age, passport number and relevant background in Skin Tissue Engineering.
Motivation Letter (max 1 page): Explaining your interest in the program and how it aligns with your academic and professional goals.
Letter of Reference (max 1 page): A recommendation from a supervisor, mentor, or professor supporting your application.
All documents must be compiled into a single PDF file and sent it to GranadaTissueEngineeringGroup@gmail.com before 25 May.
Each proposal will be assessed by the Summer School committee. The proposal will be selected based on the following criteria:
(i) Active involvement in Skin Tissue Engienering production for clinical applications
(ii) Alignment of the applicant’s CV and motivation with the scope and objectives of the training school.
Selection will also guarantee: (i) adequate representation of ARQUS, SEHIT students and ITC countries; (ii) balance in terms of: (a) research/working fields within sector; (b) gender representation.
We are pleased to offer a number of funding opportunities to support participation in the UGRSKINTECH Summer School:
(i) COST ACTION GRANT: Action CA23140 Boost and Secure ATMPs for Burn Patients (ESENBURN), 6 to 7 special grants will be available for trainees who are members of Working Groups 1 and 2. These selected participants will receive reimbursement for travel expenses and a daily allowance. To qualify for reimbursement, selected trainees must submit a short report along with a picture or video testimonial for communication and dissemination purposes.
(ii) SEHIT GRANT: The Spanish Society of Histology and Tissue Engineering (SEHIT) is offering 2 grants that will fully cover the registration fee for selected trainees.
(iii) ARQUS Alliance Grant: Through the ARQUS European University Alliance, 1 grant is available to support a PhD student from an ARQUS partner university. This grant will fully cover the registration fee.
Please note: The registration fee includes full accommodation and access to all scientific and social activities organized as part of the Summer School.
Registration is open until May 25th. Registration fee is set a 250 euros and includes participation in all activities of the SummerSchool, expenses for full board accommodation at the Carmen de la Victoria and Corrala de Santiago University Residences, social activities included in the program.
